›Trasimeno Soul Christmas
December 8th to January 6th
Everything is ready for Soul Christmas Umbria Gospel Festival that from December 8th to January 6th will host the best Gospel choirs touring Europe to celebrate the Christmas time with the great Soul music emotions. Festival starts on December 8th in Paciano town and then will continue its musical trip offering great Gospel concerts in the churches and theatres of the medieval towns around Trasimeno Lake.

› Teatro del Sogno - da Chagall a Fellini
From September 25, 2010 to January 9, 2011
The Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria in Perugia , from September 25, 2010 to January 9, 2011 presents a interesting exhibition curated by Luca Beatrice, entitled TEATRO DEL SOGNO da Chagall a Fellini.
The underlying theme of the exhibition is the dream, expression of the irrational thinking of man that enhances itself in the art and generates a art works of great symbolic value.
Thanks to the phenomenon of introspection, imagination of artists grows, deepens, so as to generate new forms of artistic expression.
The exhibition weaves the symbolism of the beginning of the twentieth century and contemporary art, Surrealism in its various phases and facets and expressions of cinema.
No coincidence that the title of the show, that reserves a special place to Marc Chagall with six works of great artistic quality and impact and also to Federico Fellini, with the film "The Clown" and "City of Women "and posters and original drawings of his famous "Book of Dreams".
Many other artists: Salvador Dali, Giorgio De Chirico, Rene Magritte, Fernando Botero and many others.

Christmas in center - Terni
Beautiful wooden homes will enliven the city center for the entire month of December in Piazza della Repubblica in Terni.
A quaint village, a veritable "city within a city" where you can sample delicious delicacies typical of the Christmas period (gingerbread, nougat, pudding ...), where to buy gifts, where to find opportunities of any kind!
There will then small shows and entertainment for adults and children.
In addition to Perugia and Terni in almost every cities of Umbria in this period you can find initiatives of this kind.

National Gallery of Umbria Perugia
It is placed at the third floor of the Palazzo dei Priori and it is the main Umbrian museum.
Archaeological Museum of Umbria - Perugia
Close to San Domenico's church, this building once hosted a convent and it became a museum at the end of XVIII century. It is formed of two sections: prehistoric and Etruscan Roman section.
Rocca Paolina Fortress - Perugia
This fortress was built by pope Paolo III Farnese after the "salt war" in 1540, in order both to keep the city under control and to protect the Papal States. Antonio da Sangallo the younger built it in only three years, destroying a large part of the medieval city where churches, towers, palaces, houses, squares and roads had been. Inside the fortress the Servizi Museali Office helping visitors with documents and news.
Palazzo della Penna - Perugia
It is placed just outside the Etruscan walls, nearby the Rocca Paolina and the St. Ercolano's church. Palazzo della Penna is the site of Cultural Activity of Perugia, while the Gallery hosts permanent and temporary, very interesting exhibitions.
Nobile Collegio del Cambio (Exchange Guild) - Perugia
It was the ancient site of the money exchangers. It is formed by a vestibule with baroque ornaments and the audience hall with wonderful wood decoration and a marvellous bench made by Domenico del Tasso. In the upper part of the vault there are the frescoes by Pietro Vannucci called the 'Perugino' .
Nobile Collegio della Mercanzia - (Merchants Guild) Perugia
It was the place of the merchants' guild during the Common period. It is an interesting rectangular site completely covered by carved wood.
Cappella di San Severo Perugia
It is the chapel where exist the only fresco in Perugia painted by Raffaello representing the Trinita.
Pozzo Etrusco (Etruscan Well) Perugia
Etruscan architectural expression of II century b.C. 35m deep and 5 m wide.
Museo delle Mura e delle Porte Urbiche Perugia
It includes the biggest Medieval door in Perugia. Inside the museum there is an interesting didactic path showing the urban development of the city.
Museo Capitolare (Capitular Museum)
It is situated inside the Cathedrals cloister and it gathers various works of 1300 and 1400.
Ipogeo dei Volumni
It is situated 5 kilometres far from Perugia and it represents the tomb of the Volumni, rich and noble Etruscan family. It is composed of the entrance, the atrium and other rooms with volcanic rock ceilings. In this rooms there are seven wonderful urns which contain the members of the family. In the lower part of the Hypogeum there are mirrors, vases, weapons and other objects collected around the city.
